| Wered. Very wered... | Re: Son is hospitalized... Good news!! The final test results came in and he def doesn't have lupus. Bad news!! Apparently it's idiosympatic and possibly, though not probably chronic. Bottom line: He could be dealing with it for a long time to come but pericarditis can be controlled with medication and close monitoring. Once he's had 3 negative echocardiograms, they're going to try to wean him off the meds again and see what happens. If he shows signs that the fluid is building up again, they'll keep him on it for another six months and try again, most likely. We're at peace with that. Thank you so much everyone for your kind concern. He's a Chron in the making. He's reading Arthur C. Clark 2010 and plans to read the whole series and who knows what else. The science fiction bug has bit him good, just like his Ma. LOL! |

| Re: Son is hospitalized... It's good to hear that the doctors are making progress, WW. Best wishes to your son and all the family. By the way, I don't understand the word, idiosympatic. (It sounds as if it means your son's symptoms are unique to him; then again, I never was any good at guessing what words mean.) |

Then of course there's the distinct possibility that I completely misspeleed it, as well. ![]() ![]() (Too Lazy To Google) |

| Re: Son is hospitalized... Well, at least the bad itself here has something of an upside... it is treatable, if a pain in the neck. And I'm sure just knowing is a relief. Best wishes to you all, WW... and, from where I sit, you are all doing a terrific job! |

| Re: Son is hospitalized... My mistake was to only check on Wikipedia and Wiktionary (which do not offer correct spellings of what you've typed). ![]() (But I was almost correct with my guess. ) |
