Yeah, she's a diva. Yeah, she's not nearly as talented (especially as an actress) as she seems to think she is. But I've really liked a lot of her music. On the other hand, Omphalos, your comment about "that little twit from Hannah Montana" gave me my best laugh of the day. She is just irritating. And I will also agree with you that I do like a lot of Rush's music. But I have to say, at the risk of having things thrown at me, that I like U2. A lot. Not everything they've done, mind you. But I don't like everything that any singer or band has done. And, heck, they're still together and producing new music...with their original line-up...what is it, more than 20 years on, certainly.

As for Maddonna well I never liked her 80s stuff but was never a fan of catchy pop. Then she brought out Ray of Light and what a change! I'd rate it as one of THE best albums by anyone! Not sure what she's done since thats worthy tho,not heard a great deal of anyone's music as I don't possess a radio!

| Re: Bands/Artists You Loathe While listening to the radio in work the other day the DJ said that Miley Cirus has a brother and said brother is heavily into tatoos. I thought OK, sounds like hes into rock music and maybe one of the Cirus brood has some taste. Then he played the bands song and i nearly passed out from the shear amount of CHEESE dripping from the lyrics. I think i was called Shake or Shake It? So now I also hate the band called Metro Station!!! with a vengence!!!! |

| Re: Bands/Artists You Loathe although, as someone who had a mohawk, I shouldn't criticise anyone's hairstyle, I saw the video for Shake It by Metro Station and I nearly wet myself laughing. they have those weird emo haircuts that go across their faces diagonally as if they turned their heads quickly while the stylist was working on them and didn't notice. |

Is it because she is scottish ![]() She is one of my new favorite female singers along with Duffy,Natasha Bedingfield,Lykke Li. I like her voice. Some that sound so brittish when they sing sound extra good. Heck 50% of the reason i dig Arctic Monkeys.

I LOAHE (c)rap. I hate it so badly I cant even pinpoint one "artist." I listen to lots of music, but I simply cannot stomach (c)rap. It annoys me to no end. I am no fan of country and western either, but I found the rest of your comment to be rather insulting and anti-American. Okay, our country is not as old as yours. But we DO have history and have forged a culture of our own. And I would add two more types of music - Opera and Metal. Of any kind. It takes a whole lot of talent to scream and growl doesnt it? Hell, I can scream, and probably do it more in tune than most of the so called metal "artists" out there.

Re the country and western, its bad yes but to say that americans are incapable of creating folk is incorrect. After all didn't folk music originate in America?
