I voted for Solaris although I wouldn't mind Dune...my cousin handed me his DVD of the theatrical cut since he plans to get the extended cut.

I believe the extended cut of Dune has about an extra 30 minutes and was targeted at (and aired on) American TV some years ago. Apparently Lynch was unhappy and had his name removed from the credits for this version.

I say all this from some dim memory I have - and could well have my wires crossed

None of the editions released so far have Lynch's approval. He appears to have no intention of putting out his original cut of the film rumored to be 5 hours plus.
