| Good evening to you all, After several years of people on this website providing their excellent insights, regarding which books to invest my hard earned student loan on, I thought it was about time I became a member and show some appreciation to the forum that has rekindled my desire for reading again after many many years! So about myself....I am currently a first year student studying International Economics and have had a keen passion for fantasy novels (David Gemmell, Gerge RR Martin etc) for a long time now, very few of my friends share my enthusiasm for reading, so where better than here to explore my interest? Watching everyone's favourite serial killer, Dexter (TV series) is another interest as well as Blackadder and Robin Williams stand up. Sport is also a huge part of my life, I am a keen tennis & squash player, any of you fancy a game? Look forward to talking with you all soon.. Samuel |

Sounds like a reasonable description of the Chrons, doesn't it? Except that, being immaterial, information can't produce a gravitational field, but has an equivalent force, making wisdom tend to concentrate in libraries, in universities, in research establishments, and leaching out of general society. Education is supposed to provide a compensating centrifugal disseminating force, but it is never as powerful, so those outsiders who receive their dose tend to be drawn into the centres of discussion, becoming part of the agglomerate, never to be sundered. Laugh indeed; but be aware of what has happened to you. It is irreversible and addictive, but never mind. Look at what a great crowd you're sharing it with. |
