I guess this is why I shouldn't read threads about books I haven't finished yet

I'm so sorry Brad!

I was new when I wrote that and didn't know to attach a spoilers warning!

You'll have him for a while yet though.

Me too. That was the saddest part of the books for me.

Re: Nighteyes

I too loved Nighteyes and grieve his death. There were many funny Nighteyes and Fitz part, but i particularly liked their first encounter of eah other and how Nighteyes came to Fitz's aid when he was attacked by the forged ones.

Re: Nighteyes

I loved Nighteyes too. He made a fantastic character. He seemed like he was the embodiment of the wisdom and simplicity of nature. Fitz was mired in the human world with all of its many complications, but Nighteyes could see to the barebones of an issue and remind him which was the most important. He wasn't as given to impulse or emotion either. It's true, he really was an "old soul." I think partly because of him, Fitz was able to step back and see the bigger picture.

I was really sad to see him die too. I didn't see that coming. I thought he'd stay throughout the trilogies, for sure. One of my favorite moments is in the Tawny Man trilogy when one of the characters remarks to Fitz that he can "still see the wolf" in Fitz's eyes. Fitz was changed because of his relationship with Nighteyes.

I loved Nighteyes

When he died I sat and over-hugged my poor dog. I think Hobbs describes animals brilliiantly, I never see a cat now without thinking "make a lap".

I did the same thing! The poor animal was very confused as to why I was crying though.

Re: Nighteyes

I tend to get rather attached to any animal characters I read about, and I have to say that it's no different here.

Re: Nighteyes

Ghost, the direwolf in 'A Game Of Throne,' by GRRM, caught my eye =D

I do not think he can rival Nighteyes for my affection though. *Sighs sadly* Why why why did Nighteyes have to die?!?

I blame Molly If she wasn't such a moany, jealous bag, Hobbs would have been able to let Fitz keep him

I blame her for the Fool's departure!

Re: Nighteyes

Seems like nobody likes Molly! She seems to get the blame for most things here! (Not the best character in the world, though, I must admit...)
