The long and short of it is its a way of saying that I have a problem with talking to people and will often choose not to make small talk unless absolutely forced to. I will choose to back down from hostility if I can. And am afraid of being judged by others. (Nebbish also connotes weakness of will and timidity; when it comes to being face to face with someone that I don't know it takes a lot of will power for me to stick around)

You know, with my ODD, ADD, ect....

ODD--oppositional defiant disorder.

But after a few hours my bipolar would kick in and then I'd be all depressed and not talking anyways.

I'm exactly the opposite. Sometimes I think I purposely seek out people to argue with. I don't know why I do that.

You know Wybrn, I think "extroverted introverts" are more common that most of us realize. (note my jumping in here to voice my openion...point 3 in my discription

). I can do well in groups, don't have a problem with even public speaking, but tend to spend private time alone. A lot of extroverts (I think) have it as a sort of mask...

Short form, in other words, you aren't alone.
