The British Fantasy Society is proud to host the launch of the "bibliographical cornucopia" on the work of Tim Powers edited by John Berlyne and published by PS Publishing.

Both John Berlyne and Tim Powers will be on hand to launch the book and copies will be on sale at the discount price of £35 a copy.

Held at our new venue, The George on Fleet Street, a short walk from Temple Tube Station.

Way too soon for that; the previous one, "Three Days to Never", only came out a couple of years ago. He tends to take much longer than that between novels.

Anyway, I sure hope that new collection will be available in the States; I'd really like to get my hands on that. I'm fascinated by his research and plotting process and I'd like to see what is revealed about that in this book.

Thanks to all for your kind comments about this book. littlemissattitude, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to locate a copy in the States - you best best will be via someone like Camelot Books whom I'm pretty sure will have copies. Otherwise, you can buy direct from PS Publishing (alas the formum bot prevents me from posting direct links, both you can track both down easiliy via google) - which might best best, given that specialist publishers like PS are supported best by direct sales.

I can promise you that this book will reveal much about TPs creative process - indeed my desire to show the way Powers constructs his extraordinary novels was the basis of why I wrote the book in the first place. A couple of particular highlights which might interest you are two extensive sections - one detailing the conception of the plot for ON STRANGER TIDES, and the second, much longer, from his research and plot contruction notes for LAST CALL. It is fascinating stuff and a consummate lesson in the craft.

Oh. I really will be looking for that, then. I especially want to see the research and plot construction material, but it all sounds fascinating.
