Number one, HJ, is the thought that some of your posts may be placed where they no longer count, which happened to me. (And I thought I was safe, with over 1200 posts, but about 350+ were moved from Aspiring Writers - Workshop to the Lounge.)

Now, in the old Ascifi site (which merged with this one two or three years ago) apparently they got little aliens for high-level posting, although how many posts per alien (and if you could trade in fifty of them for a UFO, was not clear.
