Re: 1000 Post Club That's more up HJ's alley; I know enough about business law to get into trouble.... *Considers* Hmmm, firewall software can be quite effective against spiders....and I've heard tumbleweed technology's no slouch, either...

Re: 1000 Post Club *wakes up groggily* What the... *memories come rushing back* You! *points at Ursa* Okay you've won this round, Mr Ginormous Bear, but next time I won't be making alliances with evil 7k club members. *rewrites Gollum and Ursa on his revenge list in thick black letters* Oh, and hi Grimmy how you going?

Re: 1000 Post Club Revenge? Against me? Why? I called the French food police, who rescued you. (It isn't my fault that someone else entirely lashed you to the back of a giant spider.) I feel like Sam in Jackson's Return of the King. Only a bit (well, a lot) bigger.

Re: 1000 Post Club I'm being called a Computer Aided Design? I'm being traduced. And you saw Gollum grab my hand, HJ, and you saw me trying to shake him off. (But I guess certain barely-mammals are easily conned. ![]() )

Re: 1000 Post Club Barely-mammal?! I'll have you know I am a proud marsupial, the best kind of mammals! That's right, better than bears! And don't act so smug Gollum, you may have 7k posts but you'll get yours. MUHAHAHAHAHA! *ahem* I'm quite good thanks Grim, work is pretty good and all that. That is a lot of snow! Do you have to open a window to leave the house?

Re: 1000 Post Club Would, if I hadn't shoveled the first round over the weekend. Looks like the blizzard conditions are finally dying down, at least....there should only be a foot and a half to do this time, not accounting for the drifts....

Re: 1000 Post Club Not just school. The Federal Govt.'s (at least the DC branches) been closed for 3 days, which is unprecedented. Most school districts within 50 miles of here have closed for the week. I made it to work on Monday and yesterday (it's still Weds. here), but wasn't even going to try today (and it's a good thing, because if I had made it, the Governor's order forbidding non-emergency traffic would have trapped me there.....

Re: 1000 Post Club To be honest Grim it sounds exciting to me! Trapped by the elements, drinking hot chocolates, venturing out in the snow to get vital supplies, no going to work...

Re: 1000 Post Club Hmmm, let's add a few variables to the equation.... - Ice has frozen the spring on the chimney cap, preventing me from venting it. Luckily, the power hasn't gone out (3 cheers for PEPCO!) - No venturing out yet...would have to dig out to the main road, which is off-limits. Nearest store is 5 miles away.... - I work in IT; and work knows I have remote access (hence, have been working today!) Perhaps not so exciting? Still, it is different.....
