Re: 1000 Post Club

Starbeast attempts a backflip and crashes into comphy chair. Unhurt he stands and tips the chair upright.

"Heh heh, I'm out of practice." Last week

Heh. Booby Dingle.

Not getting why 'Cricket st. Thomas' is on that list though. How is that weird?! I drive through Cricket every day on my way to work up over Windwhistle (and really, if Cricket's on there, why isn't Windy?). They've built these new posh wooden houses for the city types to come and stay in and on their website they're on about how secluded it is - failing to mention that the road over Windy is right on the other side! They've called the houses 'Swandown.' Which I don't get. Sheepdown would be more accurate. Best thing is though, on their website they've called it 'Sawndown.'

I feel like such a saddo that that amuses me.

Oh and welcome, Ada!

There's nothing remotely saddo-ish about finding a cutting remark funny, you know.

Mouse,

I'm laughing out loud at "Sawndown." The old typo monster raises its ugly head once again with hilarious consequences.

Re: 1000 Post Club

The best thing - apart from the perfect appropriateness of the word, Sawndown, on a site selling wooden buildings - is that the word is only now-and-then visible. While the official site is being built, the current one consists of a series of images with captions. The word, Sawndown, only occurs on one of these (as far as I can tell), and not on the first, so it'll likely remain there for some time.

Re: 1000 Post Club

Well it is a cut above the usual sort of misspelling.

Didn't make the cut in the spelling bee though...

Had to bump the 1000 Post Lounge threads before they got relegated to the 2nd tier...

Re: 1000 Post Club

I suppose that's better than relegating them to a second beer.

Non-alcoholic (eeew) of course.

I have always wondered: what is the point of non-alcoholic beer? It looks and smells like beer, but tastes like soda pop with the sugar removed, and some lame attempt at inserting beer flavour. Terrible stuff, and with none of the wonderful health benefits of a proper pint.

Re: 1000 Post Club

No idea about this. I've had less that 2 dozen beers in my whole life, and nary a non-alcoholic one. But I do like diet soda --- But I've stopped drinking that about 6 months ago. (All soda, I mean.)

Oh?

Kirby, I don't think he should be taking cake, then.

"Paiyo." *Kirby wanders off disappointed*

I wonder if we should leave him some prunes, then...?
