Re: The Asylum

I've just been juggling processors. My old 2.2 is a touch slow on windows 7, unfortunately, the 3gig with which I tried to replace it was a dud.

That was after working all day.

Re: The Asylum

Ow.

Yeah, it seems like each new version of Windows needs a bigger processor and more RAM than the previous, doesn't it?

Hope you got it replaced alright eventually, though.

Re: The Asylum

I'm online again.

Not much fun, though. I can live with things as they are, 7's a lot better than Vista (my computer couldn't run that, so I jumped from XP to 7) and it's running fairly well, I'd just like a touch more oomph.

Re: The Asylum

Well, I guess stuff in as much RAM as you can and see what kind of processor you can toss in, right?

I doubt I'm ever going to touch Vista, and I haven't really heard anything too bad about 7.

Re: The Asylum

7's Microsoft's attempt to get the egg off their faces after Vista, it's actually half-decent, certainly on a gig of RAM, 2.2 processor and a 256meg graphics card.

Re: The Asylum

Hi Hoopy. I'll get you tea in a minute but I suggest you turn over before Freda hugs the wrong end.

Re: The Asylum

No tea, thanks, I'm not stopping long, just had to cram in some reading and a very late dinner before I go off to sleep.

Re: The Asylum

*Wanders inside, collapsing* No, it simply wouldn't do to have the Asylum closed.

Septimus, if you're not too scared of me now, I'd prefer my usual tea....bah. Slide me down a spearmint tea no sugar, no cream.
