| Re: The Asylum It's that time of year. I know the pollen count is mostly based on grass pollen, but for the last month I've had a series of sniffles and itchy eyes as one species or another gets down to the serious business of generating offspring. Whatever the reason, I hope the feeling does pass soon. |

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: The Asylum I don't believe I've ever had hayfever; not to the point that I've ever noticed it, anyway. This feels like that back of the throat soreness that heralds a cold. Hopefully not, though. Or maybe I do have pollen allergies and I'm just in denial. |

| Re: The Asylum Ah, the back-of-the-throat soreness. That sounds more like a cold: but with luck, it won't take hold and you'll feel fine by the morning. I've never had hay-fever as such and don't take anti-histamines. But I do get tell-tale eye-itchiness (it's an irritant, but no more) during the time when a lot of trees are doing what comes naturally. The oak tree at the bottom of my mother's back garden has coated the lawn with the crunchy brown remains of catkins. (I've had a little bit of eczema now and then; but never near my eyes, I'm pleased to say. It sounds not at all nice.) |

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: The Asylum The soreness has been lingering around for a couple of days, and today I felt a bit rougher than normal, but its lingering and not progressing hopefully means that's the most it'll do and vamoose before it puts my immune system on germ alert. In a few weeks I can get as ill as I want (I wouldn't be surprised if I do, it seems to happen at the end of every academic year) but it needs to hold off for a little longer... Yeah, I can never seem to do normal-place eczema. Around and the eyes and inside my ear for me. Not annoying at all. |
