Ah. I'm so tempted to take up that baton again, Grim. Soooo tempted. It has been nearly a year...

And in terms of the spikes...that was Hoopy. I have a degree of self-restraint she can only dream of... (Not to mention the simple common sense that tells me that spikes go right through anything gaseous.)

[The Ace]

"Hoopy's one of us, the chron can't harm her but it'll take time for our defences to recognise these pirates as a threat."

Hammers off three rounds rapid, giving the pirates scrambling out of the cave something to think about.

[Tillane]

*Looks around, noticing the pirates for the first time, and shakes one off his (spiked) shoe*

Well, that's just plain unfriendly.

*Fires off a set of thorns that slam into three advancing pirates.*

[Grimward]

Blast, I missed a few. Nice catch, Ace.

*Meanwhile, the winds resulting from the collision of the wall of rising heat and the cold breeze off the harbor have begun to assail the remainder of the pirates still outside. The clouds overhead darken as they pick up moisture (take your cue, Karn!). The ruffians batter on against the wind, but it quickly turns gale force and drives them back towards the missing-mast ship.....*

Gaseous?! I resemble that....

EDIT: Alas, our angry (justifiably so, apparently) water boy appears to have flown the coup. Speaking of which, I'm still at work here at 7:20 on a Friday evening; if I mop up those outside, can the three of you (once Ursa's finished serving lobster) manage the rest? The Grimlets have sleepover friends this evening that I have to get home to assist with.....

[The Ace]

Freda scuttles back in at that moment with a flagon of liquid soap.

"Good girl Freda. Ursa, can you throw this far enough to hit them ? I never knew a pirate who wanted to wash."

[Tillane]

*Watches the pirates scarper at the mention of soap*

Nicely done, Ace. Freda. They appear to be on the run...

*Watches as one pirate turns and flicks a vituperative hand signal at hia attackers. Till tosses a single spike in his direction, nodding with satisfaction as it strikes home.*

And let that be a lesson to ya, ya ruffians!

[mirinda]

*floats in through a pirate* GAH YUCK EEW! Where did THEY come from!?

[Grimward]

*Sees the pirates emerge from the external entrance to the cave. Swoops overhead, and sends a flurry of fiery darts at their receding backsides.*

I think the band are sorted...any check on Woodfoot?

*Multi- tasks sending Mir a couple of spinning disks with launch thermals rising from them, then returns inside, headed for the sconces....*

[The Ace]

Gets the old fridge and replaces the one Karn flattened. sets up the patio furniture for temporary seating and begins to clear away the debris.

Freda looks at Mir, begging for a hug.

"Hi Mir. The Wards've got him, Grim, he'll back off if he's any sense.

[Grimward]

Use them with my compliments, milady! Will catch you later on from home.

*Reminds Freda not to forget her barbecued pringles, waves to Til, Ace and the Bear, then flows into the sconce network and vanishes.....*

[Tillane]

*Waves to Mir, eschewing a hug for obvious, spiky reasons*

Evening, Mir. Looks like you scared off the pirates!

*gives Freda a big hug* Ah I've missed you girl!

Well having a ghost float through your head is unpleasant, or so I hear. They were filthy by the way. I can still taste the grease from their hair. *grimaces* How've you been Till?

*Peeks through the door to ensure the pirates are gone before turning back to the room proper*

I've been well, thanks, Mir. Work has been...well, it's been dull, to say the least - but I haven't let that get me down. Too many pirates and stuff to vanquish!

Work dull? Noooooo...

Me. *yawn* Bored usually, tired today. Long day. Same old thing a few hours of school work and then I find I have the rest of the day free and no where to go and nothing to do. Not complaining, could be worse, but I wouldn't mind SOMETHING interesting happening.

Know how that feels. I've been more or less static since November at work and it's driving me round the bend. If it weren't for my reading and (to a lesser extent at the moment) my writing, I'd have gone completely spare ages ago.
