Re: The Asylum

Ace, you know computers. My desktop PC broke down, there was still power going through it( little green light flashing at back) but the IT specialist I called said the power pack and motherboard had gone and it wasn't worth repairing gave me a leaflet on his customised home build ones. My brother then decided to look at it and turn out it was a cople of cables had worked loose. Should I report the szpecialist?

Re: The Asylum

I would. At best, he made a basic mistake. At worst, he tried to con you.

The power supply's one of the first things we check.

Re: The Asylum

I start getting a little suspicious when he said hard drive was too full, now I have over 80% free space and defrag at least once a week. Plus if it was a hard drive error I'd still be able to start in safe mode. That was when he said it was the motherboard

Re: The Asylum

Well you have to follow legalities these days! Otherwise they tie you up with red tape and leave you to rot!
