I have to agree with Hoopy on the writing challenge, it's perfect to keep my mind sharpened between idea bursts.

Certainly does a real lingering job in your head, doesn't it, until you pretty much have to write something just for a bit of peace and quiet.

With me, it's like a car that's not in gear, but with its gas pedal pressed to the floor.


A lot of thinking but with little definable output. (Not even puns; but they usually reassert themselves and then the feeling goes away.)

I hate trying to get that first idea. Once I have it, I'm usually away and all the connecting things start falling into place, but that first damn idea...It's been especially annoying this year when I've had to come up with ideas in a limited amount of time. I think sometimes they act difficult on purpose.
