Eoin Colfer ... now that's some very good news indeed. I do like his work.

It would appear, although I'm not sure how, that I have somehow arranged for myself to be going to Eastercon. Please be gentle, it's my first time.

I'm going too: first time at Eastercon. I'll be joining in a few Steampunk-themed items over the weekend. It looks like good fun!

Re: Eastercon 2009, Bradford, 10-13 April

On the Thursday before Easter I'll be driving from my place to the eastercon.
At some point I'll arrive in Dover and drive from there to Bradford
There will be two passengers joining me from the beginning (The Cat and Marky)
That leaves 1 seat free. If anyone is interested in driving a bit of the way, then you are most welcome to join us.

Am all for a chron meetup at the con.

As for the black stuff... I'll try not to forget it

Note: In my car the driver sits on the left. (And yes, if you want to drive, you do need a valid driving license )

Morpheus ... I have Black Stuff in my fridge if you need me to bring it. Then we just need to buy vodka.

A meet-up would be fun ... it just needs to be kinda-sorta organised ... at least a time and a place.

Re: Eastercon 2009, Bradford, 10-13 April

This is probably a silly question but...I've looked on the Eastercon website and it lists who the main guests are, but i've read on a few individual author websites that they will also be attending.

Is there a comprehensive list of who is going to be in attendence?

This would be my first time attending too.

In the interests of privacy, it seems LX are not making the membership list available online. But if you join, there is one in the back of the progress reports.

Eh????? Until I know which authors are attending, I don't know if I want to attend, but unless I join I can't find out which authors are attending. Eh??

Re: Eastercon 2009, Bradford, 10-13 April

The authors that are attending - other than the guest of honours - are doing so as ordinary attending members. The Eastercon isn't like one of those media events where they ship in a boatload of minor sf telly celebs, keep them corralled away from the unwashed masses, and then wheel them out at intervals for speeches and signing sessions.

Ahh, that explains it. I know that Freda Warrington mentioned she was planning to attend, but I thought as a guest, so was surprised not to see her name advertised anywhere. Thanks for clarifying.

A lot of attending writers, and other members of the publishing industry, are on the many panels that are running, and most don't mind if you quietly ask them to sign a book at some point over the weekend.
