The episode begins with some deckplating vibration on the 'Fortunate Son' a fairly modern freighter. I remember that Archer had the problem of deckplate vibrations in his own quarters, he never discovered the reason for it, even after crawling around on the floor. Obviously it's a serious design fault in all of these new vessels, faulty goods, they should send the Enterprise back to the shipyard for a full refund.

3 more NX ships are on the drawing board, apparently.

Archer never drinks on duty: the mission was over, he was a guest on another ship, surely he can let his hair down sometime.

BTW Why do none of the Enterprise's visitors ever finish their meals? (Vulcan captain, now the Fortunate Son's first officer, Ryan Cross.)

Since Starfleet is presumably one of the customers for the dilithium ore the freighters are carrying, shouldn’t they at least be aware of the Nausican campaign of harassment and theft? So shouldn't someone have briefed Archer, who apparently had never even heard of Nausicans.

Archer and Co. can communicate with the Nausicans via Universal Translator, but when did the freighter get one, or are we to assume that Ryan’s hostage was speaking English during the interrogation? Everyone speaks English it seems, must be that great Radio & TV we've been sending out to space for the last 200 years!
