| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Cul's Sports Bar It's not the decisions so much as the win-at-all-costs attitude of the Australians since the Waugh era. I'm thinking specifically of the hounding Adam Gilchrist got when he walked in South Africa a few years back. I'll forgive a disputed catch, though I still suspect it's easy enough to tell if you got your fingers beneath it or if it has bounced up into your hands off the ground - in many cases, if not all - but there's no way you don't know when you've nicked the ball to the 'keeper or got some bat on that deflection to silly mid-on. And these days, with the technology infiltrating the game, there's no way we don't know it, either. |

| Re: Cul's Sports Bar It's not so much the act of claiming a catch nowadays, the umpires can refer it (and after this Ashes series players can too) and if there was any doubt they should refer it. |

| Re: Cul's Sports Bar The thing that stings me most about the catching debacle is the inconsistency. Day Four, Hauritz thinks he catches one, the umpires aren't sure, they refer it, it's called not out. Day Five, Strauss thinks he catches one, somehow the umpires are sure even though the second umpire is further away than he was for the Hauritz catch, for some reason they don't refer it, and it's called out. I have no doubt that if it had been referred it would have been given not out. But don't get me wrong, England bowled magnificently and got the edges. They definitely deserved to win that test match. |

| Re: Cul's Sports Bar I posted a few days ago that I didn't think that either team was an all-time best but that I thought that might lead to some good contests, I just didn't realise that correct sporting term was Auras .BBC SPORT | Cricket | England | Aussies have lost aura - Strauss Well I suppose even athletes get sick of saying they're giving 110% and taking it one game at a time. Good luck for the 3rd test and hopefully there will be enough sun to get a result. |
