S.G.-1 is a person short. S.G.C. has on a hand a pool of proven high calibre humans who would give their eye teeth for a chance to join the flagship team, S.G.-1.

Do they choose one of their own whom they've trained for the job? You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no.

They are going to pass over all these excellent people for an alien BAD EGG who:

1. stood cravenly by while Dr. Jackson promptly and courageously leapt in to save his people,

2. colluded in the blackguarding of Daniel's reputation over the damage to the lab. in order to preserve his own reputation.

3. stole naquadrium from his own people

4. treasonably took it to a foreign power

5. made S.G.C. a present of this stolen property, thus making them accessories after the fact of his crime, and risking a diplomatic embarrassment when the theft is discovered and the thief has absconded to Earth...

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!! :reyes: :disturbed :reyes:

Next, they'll be expecting us to believe that water flows uphill!!!

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut - who feels like the small boy in the fairy story of 'The Emperor's New Clothes'. Gak!

You've made some valuable points and have contributed to my understanding of Jonas' character. Still, you've overlooked the essence of his character.

Jonas hoped to bridge the relationship between two worlds. He's the misunderstood academic on his home planet and the sore thumb on Earth. Not many people were kicking and screaming when Teal'c left Chulak to backstab his gods.

Jonas intended to save his people from destruction. He also intended to help Earth find a new power source. The bottom line is that Jonas government were using the 'ore' to intimidate the other rivalling superpower. We all know that nuclear weapons don't prevent war, but ignite change in political ideologies and methodologies.

The bottom line is also don't know much about Jonas. Everything right is speculation. We don't know if producers read our comments. The bottom line is MS is gone. If we continue to look at Jonas through Daniel's lenses, we're not helping Stargate. If we're true fans we'll embrace what Jonas has to offer.
