What experience or skills could he possibly bring to the SGC? His planet's technology is 60 years behind the U.S., he doesn't have the knowledge of earth cultures that Daniel did and he certainly doesn't look military.
However, it's obvious that TPTB don't give a rat's ass what the fans think. They'll probably try to jam him down our throats in S6. As for the whole 'hunk' thing, we'll see about that.
(Actually, I'm hoping for a Sam/Jonas romance. That would be a nice twist.)

Why are you a pessimest? There's nothing wrong with Jack. Respect Michael Shank's decision. It was a great idea for MS to leave since it now gives him new opportunities to explore new projects and endeavours. I fully support MS.
To people that are HOPING that MS will come back, don't lose any sleep over it. I myself will be suprised if & when that happens, but place yourself in MS's shoes (pragmatically.) What will happen to my career if I ask producers to take back my request? MS will become a chump!
Back to Jonas. Let him be. Give him a change. Let the young guy explore his new found stardom. Romance with Carter, I'll puke. People already understand MY PERSONAL feelings on Carter. She's tramped around the show. I don't like that!
