| Re: I love the Stravaganza series Hello there! Mary, I don't know if you're still answering questions, but if so, one of the many things I love about your stravaganza books is the growing relationship between Luciano and his two mentors Dethridge and Rodolfo, I've loved seeing it develop through the series. Do you think this is something you are likely to expand on further in future books? Good luck for when you start work again, can't wait to read the next installment! |

There will definitely be more about Dethridge and Rodolfo. I'm very interested in them myself. I see Luciano turning into a sort of Rodolfo-figure when he is older. Interesting question; thanks. Mary

| Re: I love the Stravaganza series I agree, though perhaps a little less intense version of Rodolfo! Though I like the air of intensity Rodolfo has about him. I think I find those characters so intersting (Rodolfo and Dethridge) because there previous history has not been fully explained, but I can imagine it would be fascinating to explore. Anyway, thanks for answering. |

| Re: I love the Stravaganza series Hi Mary! I have a question, but it contains spoilers so I shall type in white like some others have done. You might think it's a bit random, but some of my friends who have read the books would like to know too! I was just wondering, in between City of Flowers and City of Secret what Silvia's reaction was to the news Arianna and Luciano were getting married, because we always got the impression she didn't approve of such an un-political choice for Arianna! And did Rodolfo mind him marrying his only daughter?! |

I don't really think that Silvia would object; she just wanted Arianna to think things through. And Rodolfo feels responsible for Luciano and is genuinely fond of him so he wouldn't mind either. Mary

| Hi, Well this could turn out to be a bit of a long post because I have a habit of saying things in too many words plus I didn't quite know where to write this...I lurked here for a bit, and then was tempted to join because of the fact Mary answers so many fan questions. I think it's wonderful that an author would take so much time in answering questions and discussing! I'm 18 - not sure how old most people are that read Stravaganza but I just bought my copy of City of Secrets today(somehow didn't know it had come out!!). The thing I love most about the writing, is how believable and familiar, but also unique, a worlsord is created. The smallest details and character features make the plots and world of Talia so enthralling It has convinced me I desperately need to go to Venice (City of Masks is my favourite...except for the last bit of City of Flowers: Arianna/Luciano...ahh I just love them). So a question: When you write the series do you know exactly where your characters are heading, or events that are going to happen in future books? I wondered if you had a plan for their futures and how you want them all to develop or whether you learn about how they're changing and reacting to events the same time as they do, as you write? Thanks for reading this and hello all the other Stravaganza fans on here *waves*! Mia P.S. Not sure how popular this view will be but the thing that worries me about a film (saw that some people were discussing the possibility) is the fact that I have an image of the characters, their mannerisms and looks in my head and I would be upset if the film didn't run closely to this...hmm...it would be exciting though! |

I do have some future plans but they also change a bit as I write. I hope this answer makes sense? Mary

| Re: I love the Stravaganza series thank you for your answer! yes that does make sense... it's true that when you write stories you learn about the characters as you're doing it, so you get to find out more about them the more you write, as if they're people you actually know thanks for answering so quicklymia xx |
