Insipid new Harry Potter cover Here is a link to the cover of the latest HP: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince I find it very dull and uninteresting, not sure why though. http://f.chtah.com/i/9/276579820/hal..._cover_308.jpg

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover I think the others were more colorful... although OotP had a pretty dark cover, too. at least the adult edition did. Personally, I don't think the newest cover is so bad. It just lacks a bit of action with Harry and Dumbledore staring at some basin of sorts shrouded in green swirling mists. (though it makes for quite a poetic description... )I can't wait to finally read it!...Yeah I know...Gotta wait some more....

![]() "Now we just add some peas with the ham, a pinch of pepper some mustard....now stir it boy...no..you are not a wizard...turn the spoon the right way around." "No..look here, how many times do I have to tell you, you've got peas and ham all up your sleeve, and stop bloody calling me Dumbledore, it's grandad or pops right!"

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover that looks to be the child edition cover as they've used that cartoon harry potter for all of those. I hope this is the last Harry Potter book as I get the feeling she was milking the franchise with the last book. 800 pages condensed into 2 lines beginning of book - Voldemort is alive, no-one believes Harry end of book - Voldemort is alive - people believe Harry 700 pages of not much going on in between

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover I'm not too fussed about crappy covers as long as what's in between is good... WS, there will be a seventh book, I think, I can't see Harry leaving school without getting his NEWTs, he's gone through so much to get there...

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover I really like this cover. I love the colour scheme; I find it very eyecatching and appealing. I wonder what it is about colour schemes that work and ones that don't, what the brain naturally finds attractive and unattractive? I would definitely pick this book up if I was browsing, just because of that green... I'd also exploit the franchise to the very last drop

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover Personnally, a blue or deep blue cover is sure to catch my eyes, as any cover drawn by Caza, Suidmak (my avatar) or Manchu. As for Harry Potter, i don't care about the cover, either I'll get the book by P2P or I'll take my cousin édition.

Re: Insipid new Harry Potter cover I have found the UK ones... the kids one is, if anything, worse. The adult one redeams it somewhat, though calling them "child" and "adult" covers is a little misleading the adults who read it are just releasing their inner kiddie![]() http://www.usharrypotter.com/modules...ok%20Cover.bmp http://www.usharrypotter.com/modules...ok%20Cover.bmp

Does anyone find that the overly-large printings are ridiculous? I mean, you could condense the text from each of these books into a fairly compact paperback very easily. I mean, look at the typeface in the huge hardcovers, and then imagine it in the typeface of any Wheel of Time book, and you've got a paperback maybe 1 inch thick. Besides, if you want a good young adult story, pick up Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series. | |
