So it goes

Apparently she'd just recorded the voiceover work for the ship's computer in the new Trek film

That's a shame. Raise a glass to Deanna Troi's horrible mother. An institution.

"Computer shutting down, reboot not possible."

The best link between all the series of the ST universe. She was even in "The Cage".

Indeed, she was truly the First Lady of Star Trek. It'll never be the same without her.

Re: Majel Roddenberry, widow of 'Trek' creator, dies

A sad loss for the Star Trek Universe and science fiction as a whole. I seem to recall, back when a lot of hardcore fans were bashing the young new challenger to TV science fiction, Babylon 5 she came across supporting ANY TV SF with dignity and grace, to the point of appearing in an episode.

Perhaps not just the first lady of Star Trek but the first lady of television Science Fiction. A loss indeed.

No more, 'Number One,' no more Nurse Chapel, no more computer voice and no more insufferably brilliant Luaxanna Troi. She will, indeed, be missed.

Indeed, very sad. The only link, as Pteppic says, between all the incarnations of Star Trek, and a very nice person, from all accounts.

A shame for the science fiction community at large, and as people have said the loss of a great figure of continuity for Star Trek. A great shame indeed.

I thought that she still went by her name of Majel Barrett. When did she stop that?
