I say potential because, like you, I think he has committed too many faux pas (shall we say?) to be readily accepted as a member of the SGC or SG1. If he is to become one, then he'll have to prove himself to Jack and Hammond.
If the producers really wanted to present a replacement for Daniel then they sure have a strange way of doing it. Unless of course they are trying to say that he is flawed but will be all the better a team member for having to work hard for their respect.
I don't know. Maybe their thinking is flawed. Perhaps they think we'll all be taken in by his boyish good looks or something. Perhaps they really do think we're all as shallow and brainless as that.
Btw Mish......he does have quite a nice smile. But I think he may need more than that to convince many of the viewers!
