Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

Kneeling down to the hobbits was a biggie, as was the super gloppy and extra sentimental meeting between Frodo and the gang at the end. "Cuddles with Sam" and all.

However, it was the scene where Gandalf took Pippen away from Merry that really got to me. Merry was so hurt and angry and terrified at the same time, while Pippen kept screaming Merry's name. Then when they reunited on the battlefield I bawled so loudly that I got shushed. It was odd, because none of the romances in the film moved me the slighest bit. I was completely irritated with Aragorn for going with well-dressed princess elf girl Arwen (who rides a horse well) instead of butt-kicking, blade-in-hand, went-into-battle-even-though-you-rejected-her-jerk Eowen (who killed a Ring Wraith!) Sheesh.

It was the dynamic between Merry and Pippen that did the most for me. Legolas is pretty, but Merry and Pippen brought on the tears.

Then again, Bram Stoker's Dracula causes hysterics, as do Mary Reilley, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Crow, and Donnie Darko. I have issues.
