First-time novelist wins Booker

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but never say never.

Always good to hear about a new writer getting recognition - and here, just about the best recognition one can get. I don't know if I'd be keen to win the Booker first-time out. Where do you go from there?

Hey TEIN - I thought you wouldn't care where the money went - time being what it is!!!! But, well, there's hope for all of us eh? With getting our books published, I mean, not time, or the banks.

Anyway - good for him; I love seeing someone who's not been known before getting recognised, rather than those who have been a pop star or a celebrity of some description or other getting published on the back of just their fame.

I've deliberately not won the Booker for precisely this reason.
