| [QUOTE=Mary Hoffman; Falco's body was buried in Giglia; it was his shadow that wasn't there, because he had been translated to our world.[/QUOTE] Thanks so much for explaining that. I thought that Duke Niccolo was a really interesting character in City of Stars. He seemed to be able to love his son so much but yet you knew all the bad things he'd made happen. As a reader I really loved this as you are able to see him more as a real person rather than just an opposing threat. |

| Re: There will be a sixth Stravaganza! what a good thread! i just registered because this seems like such a good site, and i love these books so much. i remember finding city of masks in a bookshop while on holiday when it first came out, and loving it at once. i've read them all so many times in the intervening years. i can't wait for the 5th and 6th! i really want the 7th one, if they commission it (i REALLY hope they do!), to be about the city of music (volana i think?), because i play cello and clarinet, and i really want luciano to start playing his violin again!!! thanks for the amazing books, mary rachel |

The best place to find out would be the Bloomsbury USA website, I think. I hope you don't have too long to wait! Mary

AAAAARGH! (Runs screaming round the room) I DIDN'T! The German publisher translated the first books from proofs that had not been finally corrected (goodness knows how many other mistakes there were) and in that proof the Prince was called Luca. But I realised that when Niccolò died, his son would become Duca Luca! So I changed it to Fabrizio. The very same translator who did the first three books did not remember the name from the first books and just used Fabrizio in the fourth (which is correct). The German publishers will change F back to Luca in the reprint and subsequent books (and Herzog Luca sounds OK). I'm very cross with them for this mistake. Really the only safe text to read is the English one. Mary

| Re: There will be a sixth Stravaganza! Thanks for the answer When i´ve read the 4th book i was very confused. What happened with luca ? Marsians kidnapped him and sent a disguise marsian called fabrizio to earth? Now i´m not longer confused but when i read the books again i everytime have to think a moment about the persons. Maybe it´s a good idea to read the original books so I can practice may english. Stravaganza-Fan |

| Re: There will be a sixth Stravaganza! Hello everyone, I am so glad that there will be a sixth stravaganza. It is one of my favoutrite series. I think that Ms Hoffman if one of those few but fortunate and talented people that have a good plot as well as being able to write. Stephanie Meyer, who I like too, only has the plot and has no sene of balance between action and romance. Ms Hoffman has all the factors of an excellet book. I wouldn't be surprised if Stravaganza is as big as Harry Potter or Twilight one of these days. The cover art is really good. ![]() It is very dramatic. Even thought in my books the first three are the old covers I like these ones better. Anna |
