Your welcome, Sanchez gone before Skins can drool and fool. But remember some of God's best gifts are unanswered prayers.

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Re Joe DeCamillis, me too, Urse. As for the Cowboys' roof, after all the "turmoil" it had to endure last season, it's amazing it didn't disintegrate sooner..... |

OK, that was really weird. Thought I was editing the post above. Must not have been paying attention; sorry for the DP!

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) This has been on again off again for several weeks now. One would think Favre (or his agent) has to have this kind of attention every off-season....bad news for Sephy and Parse, though..... |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) The prognosis is good - he's had the surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. Scouting assistant Rich Behm doesn't have the same happy news, however. A trust fund has been set up for him. It's a terrible tragedy but, considering the number of people involved, it certainly could have been worse. Cayal, re: Favre - seriously? While I allowed for the possibility of anything happening, I really thought he'd stick with it this time. Back on the draft thing, I think the most interesting thing to see in a general sense will be the lunatic Raiders. Crazy - like a fox, or like a loon? Looks like the Eagles and Giants (and maybe Skins, too) really helped themselves in the draft and/or free agency. The NFC East is a nightmare. Do we have any Chicago fans here? I can't remember what, now, but they've done interesting things so far this off-season. I look forward to following their season. On the Cowboys part of the draft, I'm kind of surprised and think we might have done better to trade some of this year's picks for some picks in the future if nothing else, but I actually like it. Building by draft is nicely old-school and makes it a less mercenary team. Also younger and cheaper. Puts more pressure on incumbent players to prove their worth and not rest on their laurels. Shores up some positions we need and should bolster our weakest facet (special teams). And, if McGee can do anything at all, Bollinger is gone this year, Kitna will be soon, and maybe if McGee is truly good, we'll have an heir apparent. And I guess Dallas was so pleased with last year's excellent draft class, including late round picks, that they just wanted to do it again, only more so. |

| This world is not my home | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Bad news hardly covers it! Farve a Viking? Who am I supposed to hate now? ![]() Seriously though, I do believe it is bad news. I think Farve at this stage of his career is a downgrade from T. Jack, and perhaps from Sage R. as well. But what will likely happen is that the Vikes will keep "the Legend" and let go one or the other of the youngsters who have an upside, unlike Sir Brett. I believe the window for the Vikings is very small indeed. Given his college record any carry could be the last for AP, and then the Super Bowl potential is very small indeed. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Seen enough of your posts to know (I think, anyway!) when you're serious, Cay. Didn't assume so in this case, so let me echo your "yay"..... Parse, you have my condolences....as long as you don't point out the fact that Favre's available to the Danny, that is! |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) To be fair Favre is probably better then both T-Jack and Sage (Sage really isn't very good). But man I am just sick of the guy. Retire or don't. It's not hard. |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Evidently it is. But what's the point of bringing in a guy who might give you one good year, but will more likely give you a handful of fair games and a bunch of mediocre ones, at the expense of the development of a young guy that could become a solid starter? Jackson played pretty well to end the year, didn't he? They've got a strong defense, a solid running game, they can afford to let Jackson find his feet a little, I'd have thought. Crazy. |
