Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

Just as long as you forgive me when I wander too far into the "right" thread, Ms. Pixie Druid (I've credentials to explore the extreme fringes, but quickly get out of my depth!).

Iggles have stormed back to take the lead 25-24 with about 7 and a half to go in the game, but 'Zona is threatening....

I'm thinking it's going down to the last possession, this one...

One team misses a one point conversion, the other makes a two-pointer.

Definitely a nail-biter....

And the Eagles come up short... You gotta think that sends Arizona to the Superbowl.

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

3rd and 1. 59 seconds left. A little too much time to take a knee twice...and NOW 4th and 2 and the Cards have to take their 2nd timeout!!! Not over yet, folks!

9 seconds to go 93 yards! Strike that (stupid gamecast!). A valiant effort by the Iggles, and the Arizona Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl!!!!!! Amazing!

Fourth and two, with 15 seconds on the clock, and in the middle of the field.

And a timeout....

And now the ball is on the Eagles' seven yard line....

Good to see the Cardinals in the Superbowl.

I think they have a real shot if they play Baltimore...not so much if they play the Steelers.

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

Well who'd have picked a team from the NFC's weakest division to represent them come Superbowl time?

Interestly, too - both punters in that game were Australian...

Well done, Cardinals.

(And who'd have thought that Australians liked to gamble? Or whatever...? )

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

I dunno about their chances against either, Cul, but Kurt Warner has become an x-factor. The only question is whether the Cards O-line can give him time to throw against either defense....and who would want to be throwing against Troy Palamalu or Ed Reed?!!

Anyone game to pick the scores in this one? I'm saying 13-9, Baltimore wins it.

You're pushing the boat out a bit there by forecasting a touchdown, Cul.

Or are you suggesting a couple of Safeties...?

And now, after less than ten minutes, the Steelers are 6-0 up.

Given the context, the Steelers are running away with this (); at the moment.

But, sadly, I'll have to find out what happens in Pittsburgh tomorrow morning.
