It's all good - karma got you guys in the final... Maybe you can hope for the same for Baltimore.

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

Eleven points is a slightly better margin, but there's still all to play for.

EDIT: And now an interception: Steelers ball (probably).

EDIT: And although forced to punt, the Steelers recover the ball after a muffed catch!

EDIT: 4th and Goal on the Chargers' 1-yd line ... and it's the end of the 3rd quarter and I have to be up early tomorrow. Darp!

Drive stopped at 1 inch line. I really miss last year's defense; win or lose, this year's team is going to give me an ulcer.

I can't believe they went for the seven there. I know Rivers can light it up, but surely you take the gimme three to put yourselves two scores ahead...

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

The score is so bad now that I am banned from watching the end of the game. I am apparently considered bad luck.

I have never watched a full game that has been won by a San Diego team, ever. That goes back a full thirty years. So I suppose you Steeler fans owe me (I watched through that start of the 4th quarter).

Final - Steelers by 11, 35-24.

Know the feeling well, Wig - I'm not allowed even to listen to a live game on the radio, lt alone watch one on TV...

Oh well, we weren't that good this year. We were still better than Denver though and should have been able to finish the season at 10-6 instead of 8-8.

I bet the Ravens wished you'd won - I know I'd rather go to sunny California for the AFC title game than have to play in the cold North...

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

Down to the last four, then...

Assuming the people who backed the winners this weekend stay with a winning hand, there's a few gaps to fill in for the Championship games:

Ursa = Steelers

Cul = Steelers

Py = Ravens

Parson = ??

J-Sun = ??

Wiglaf = ??

Lady = ??

Grim = ??

WW = ??

You pays yer money and yer takes yer pick...

Ah, no one bold enough to pick between the battle of the birds, then?

Will update results after sending the Grimlets to bed.

And sorry Wiggs, Chargers shook off the doldrums to turn in a fine performance this season. Everyone has to remember that any team who can hang 24 points on this incarnation of the Steel Curtain, especially in their crib, is playing some football. Steelers and Ravens...well, from a defensive perspective, the Super Bowl is next week.

I have no real choice but to go with the Steelers.

(I'm rather hoping I'll have to go with the Steelers all the way to the Super Bowl. )

Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!)

I still can't believe the Cards are hosting the NFC Championship game. We thought about getting tickets, but the cheapest ones were $120 a piece, and that's just not in our budget right now. Should be a good game, with Philly playing as well as they are.

And my hopes of the Steelers going all the way looks a little more promising this morning.

Okay,

Following through with my desire to derail another team in the playoffs. I pick Pittsburgh. The Viking nemesis for generations. So Grim

Parson for Pittsburgh
