| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Given that Atlanta and Miami have now bitten the dust, I'm left with the Steelers for the AFC Divisional game (and, I hope, the AFC Championship game; come on now: two 12-4 teams shouldn't both lose to an 8-8 one, surely; please!). |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) 1-0, thats a good start for me. Now I have to think about who I'll pick this weekend...Not sure what happened with the Dolphins. Set a league record this season with fewest turnovers and then had 5 in a playoff game. But I do hope the Steelers win it all. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) I would but I am too busy getting ready for next week. We are 0-13 all time vs the Steelers in the regular season and 2-0 in the post season; I hope we remember it is the post season. And I hope that we play a full 4 quarters unlike most of our games this year. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) After a couple days hiatus, I have returned to the fold.... *Groans all round from gathered assemblage* And our post-season records stand as follows: LOW 1-0 (Ravens) Pyan 1-0 (Ravens) Parson 0-1 (Vikings) Cul 0-1 (Falcons) Ursa 0-1 (Falcons) J-Sun 0-1 (Falcons) Werewoman 0-1 (Dolphins) Grim 0-1 (Colts) Pretty brutal first round ('cept for Pyan and the Lady, of course). WW, you get your preference back this week. Lady, you might recall at the beginning of the season that many people were picking San Diego to go all the way. That is probably the best 8-8 team the NFL has seen in MANY years (if not ever). They've knocked the most dangerous (in my opinion) quarterback remaining out in their first game. Yes, they now have to run into that buzz saw defense in Pittsburgh, but they've got momentum, and the Steelers have been cooling their heels for 2 weeks now. Hard to say where that one's headed.....on other fronts, I just wouldn't want to be trying to throw against Ed Reed right now; the guy's out of this world!!! |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Just to make selection easier, this week's round sees: Baltimore at Tennessee on Saturday afternoon; Arizona at Carolina on Saturday night; Philidelphia at New York on Sunday afternoon; and San Diego at Pittsburgh on Sunday evening. After getting burnt last week, I'm going to be more judicious this week. I don't think any game is a lock, though I think the Titans, the Steelers, and the Panthers definitely deserve favouritism. Of those three... Pittsburgh. |

| This world is not my home | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Sigh! My Vikings have disappeared beneath a stifling Philly defense. To give the devil his due, but Vikings certainly did their share by allowing a 60 yard punt return -- a season long bugaboo -- an interception for a touch down, and a 16 yard punt. >>> Sigh <<< Oh well, on to the next loss, errr, I mean win. My team until they get bumped, I suppose this week, will be the Tennessee Titans. Therefore Grim put me down this week as Tennessee. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) I'm rooting for Baltimore and San Diego at this point (though I expect Pittsburgh to win and I could live with that) and I don't care at all about the rest, but I expect New York to finally put a stop to Philly and Carolina to end Arizona. And Carolina is my pick - though I reserve the right to change my mind before the deadline if somebody gets overzealous in practice and can't play this weekend or something. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) IF any of you curse the Titans and we lose I will make it my life's goal to hunt each and everyone of you down....and no I am not kidding. I HATE the Ravens. And losing to them (again) in the playoffs would push me over the edge. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) What's that, Parse? I can't quite read your pic.....looks like the font isn't large enough.... ![]() Thanks for the assist, Cul! ![]() All right, so for this week..... Ursa = Steelers Cul = Steelers Py = Ravens Parson = Titans J-Sun = Panthers Wiglaf = Chargers (and I didn't forget you, chief: See the rules about this post-season thing described earlier. It's not like the regular season: You have to MAKE a selection each week, and it can be a different team. Can't count last week's, but will add you this week.) Lady = Panthers Did I miss anyone? WW, based on my lousy memory of the previous page (Cuz I'm too lazy to go look!) place your Panthers vote, please! Cay, see note above to Wiggs, then type "My pick for this week is Tennesee" , as I'm not making assumptions here....(ok, so I just did, but not gonna enter your pick for you!). |
