| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) My favorites/picks: Atlanta San Diego (probably going to lose, but I'm rooting for 'em) Baltimore (of the teams left, I suppose I hope these guys get the whole enchilada) Minnesota (possibly going to lose, but I'm rooting for 'em) If just one pick, then I regard Atlanta as the surest bet but Baltimore as the most important. |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) I like the Ravens, Py! Been a fan of Flacco all year, and despite the fact I'm a Saints man, I do love a good defense... Of all the teams still in it, Pittsburgh and Baltimore are ones I want to see win the whole shebang. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) The Lady (she of Winterfell fame) had selected Poe's Pets previously, your Greenness! Arizona and Atlanta getting ready to go in about a half hour, folks. Shouldn't accept any others, but if you get them in before the first kick-off, well, I suppose there isn't much difference..... |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) If the Falcons panic and put it all on Ryan and/or fail to get Turner going and establish some ball control, then I'm gonna be 0-1 real quick. But you just can't commit turnovers in the playoffs. Cardinals are outcoaching/playcalling the Falcons, too. And, Pyan - I'm pulling for the Ravens, too, even if that isn't my "Game of the Week", I guess. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Well, a pick resulting in a touchdown for each side cancels out, leaving the Falcons ahead, so everything's as it should be at halftime. Just saw the time of possession numbers (21:19 to 8:41) and Atlanta has about 50 to 30 in rushing yards, so that's also as it should be. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Yeah, Kurt Warner has returned to his Rams form from earlier in the decade, with two receivers who potentially have even more ability than that group, to boot. Mr. Parson sir, my humble apologies; I thought my spreadsheet looked a little light!!!! Amended list, then: Parson Vikings Cul Falcons Ursa Falcons J-Sun Falcons LOW Ravens Pyan Ravens Werewoman Dolphins Grim Colts Yes, yesterday's games were, alas, a wipeout (the Grinning Grim has become the Groaning Grim, and Wigs has every right to say "Told Ya So!") Perhaps WW, Pyan, Lady and Parse will fare better today, although Py/Lady and WW face each other, so there shall be at least one more loss.... |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Well, from a pick's point of view, they definitely were, but I was rooting for the Chargers, so was happy with that one. Sorry that didn't help you, though. Still, as fans, I think everybody got their money's worth out of that one. ![]() Yep, I don't think I'm being too presumptuous (27-9 with 3 minutes) in giving congrats to Pyan and LOW and sympathies to Werewoman. |

| Wered. Very wered... | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Grrrrr. Dammitall! And you wonder why I only root for the panthers? undying loyalty has to pay off sooner or later... well, it worked for the Bucs. They just need to get rid of 'Chucky' or lose the owners - one or the other. Have you ever seen the guys who own the team? Multimillionare brothers (may be twins - not sure, don't wanna know) who are too controlling and should not be allowed in public without a bag over their heads. The only owner I hate more than them is Jerry Jones. It's hard for me to even type his name....<growl> |
