| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Geez, talk about discipline problems. Three penalties against the Browns on this drive alone - they'd be in the end zone already if not for that! EDIT: Anderson to Edwards for the six, they got there in the end anyway! The Giants will need to pull something special out to get back on top of this one... |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) The announcers are saying it as I type; what are the Giants thinking? Running the ball with 8 minutes left like they are ahead by 3 touchdowns instead of the reverse?! |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Yep. If you'd told me that Arizona, Cleveland and St. Louis (combined 4-8 coming into this week) would beat the cream of the NFC East, I'd have said the Chrons was more likely to crash..... (oops, sore subject....Sorry!). Either way, you get the point.... Last edited by Grimward; 14th October 2008 at 04:44 AM. Reason: Correction! |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Well, in truth, the Giants haven't been setting the world on fire so far, and Cleveland really had been underperforming... It's a good result for your Redskins, though, Grim. If only they'd beaten the Rams! |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) No indeed, and against a previously HOT Dolphins squad, too. Unless they moved to the NFC East during the Chrons crash, however, Philly was the only NFC East victor on Sunday.... And don't I know it, Cul! Makes ya want to grind your teeth! Still, better one game back than 2....nice av by the way! |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) What a weekend in the NFL! Some really good games. We got to watch the Falcons-Bears game, what a finish! And then the Arizona-Dallas game had an even better finish! Cards are doing alright this year, we'll just have to see if they keep it up. My hubby and I are going to the Cards game against the Giants in November, hopefully that one will be a good one as well. I would like to forget the game that happened on Sunday night...horrible. There is a reason Matt Cassel is a backup. That was the first time I got to see him play, and I was far from impressed. Of course our defense decided not to show up for a game as well. I don't care what anyone says, losing Brady was a HUGE loss to this team. And the Cowboys will be without Tony Romo for 3 games, broken pinkie on his throwing hand. Brad Johnson is their new starting QB. Should be interesting to see what happens with that. They have the Giants in that span as well. |

| This world is not my home | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Seph, Okay, there is no way to predict an NFL football game, every team has enough talent to beat another on "any given Sunday." (Monday, Thursday, Saturday...) Just for your information with no guarantees. If both teams play about average, I would say the Vikings are about a 3 point favorite at home. Or in a better sense, the Vikings can afford only 1 more turnover than the Bears and have any hope of winning. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Well, you're likely to enjoy it for one more week, Cay; the hapless Chiefs will be entertaining Jeff Fisher and your other Titan friends this weekend. Wiggs has a tough trip up to Buffalo, but at least it will still be in the 50's there (give it another month and they'll have had snow!). Seph and Parson in yet another Division Game against the Da Bears (slipped into ancient Saturday Night Live speak for a second there). Ursa gets to try Brad Johnson's hand against the Rams, fresh off their shocker against my Skins. Edott and Cul have a tough one against Carolina, Monty's got a pick-em game against Houston (a win for the Lions?), Pyan and Simian square off at Raider-fan central, Peyton Manning and his Colts invade the frozen tundra to take on Weasel Soup, the Browns are after my Skins, Joja's Seahawks are at Tampa, and (gasping breath!), the Broncos invade Gillette Stadium to take on LOW's Patriots. Cayal 5-0 Ursa 4-2 Grim 4-2 LOW 3-2 Pyan 3-2 Wiglaf 3-3 Seph 3-3 Parson 3-3 Edott 3-3 Cul 3-3 Weasel 3-3 Simian 1-4 Joja 1-4 Monty 0-5 For those of you who haven't (re!)represented, don't forget your tags!!! | This world is not my home | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Parson, looking embarrassed, notes that the scheduled Vikings/Bears game is not in the land of 10,000 Lakes, but in the fearful land of Lincoln. So when it comes time to handicap the game, I make it dead even. I pick the Vikes out of loyalty, love, and lack of common sense. Go Vikes! |
