| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Go Jets! The bigger they are, the harder they fall!! Tennessee looked like a shadow of their usual selves, Cayal, from what I've seen...still, better here than in the post-season games.... |

| This world is not my home | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Go Vikes! and thanks Jacksonville. The Vikings continue in their tantalyzing ways. Just good enough, with enough good parts to make you think that they could catch lighting in a bottle like the Giants did last year and wind up winning at all. On the other hand they have some parts that make them very vulnerable. (Can anyone say "punt coverage!) On to Chicago, for what has to be considered a must win for a Viking fan. If we can beat Chicago we will have 2 consective 3 and 1 quarter [Most NFL coaches divide the season into four 4 game quarters.] But when the final quarter has the final games with the Cardinals, Falcolns, and Giants, the necessary 3 and 1 in that quarter for my estimated 10-6 is pretty dubious. |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Hopefully the Saints get up today and post their first consecutive wins for the year. I'm just glad we're at home. Talk about a tale of two divisions, though. We're on 5-5 and solidly at the bottom of the NFC South. The Pack are 5-5 and coming into the round were tied for a piece of the lead in the NFC North... |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Andy Reid lost his marbles for a minute (I know McNabb was sucking, but still...) The New York Bretts are on a rampage and now if only Detroit can stumble into a victory somewhere, all the zeros will be gone from the win-loss columns for this season. I think Da Bears get the award for weekly turnaround, beating St. Louis 27-3 after losing to the Pack 37-3. And my Cowboys still can't keep their feet on the opponents neck. It was 32-9 and ended up being 35-22. And the offense was still sputtering early until the Bomb & double-sack & Block/Safety over the span of five plays defined the nature of this particular beast. And we may have to do without Kosier again, since he seems to have reinjured his foot. And Jenkins hurt his hamstring before Adam Jones will get back, though I'm not sure how bad it is, so our once-seemingly-infinite depth at cornerback may be about gone. But it's a win. I'll take it. |

| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) Re: the Lions: Tennessee, Minnesota, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Green Bay. Erm, it looks the Lions have a great chance at making a little history. Anybody can beat anybody on any given day in the NFL, but none of those look real likely. And if 17-0 in the first quarter won't get the job done, it may be hopeless. If I were to pick one (no offense, Culhwch) maybe the Saints will freak out and save Detroit, but I wouldn't count on it. |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) In that list Minnesota, Indy, the Saints and Green Bay have all been up and down, so it wouldn't surprise me if they got a win at some point. Unlike the cautiously pessimistic Cayal, though, I very much doubt they have a snowball's against the Titans... |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) It's a bit of a shootout. Hopefully the Saints have last use of the ball... Not that it helps me any, but I just realised Ten HD has the NFL! Gah! Why can't regular Ten show it! Is Oprah really that popular? |
