It is actually a quotation from the Bible:

Quote:
And Moses was content to dwell with the man [Reuel]: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

I am reading "Wrath of a Mad God" by Feist and "Enchanters End Game" By Eddings

Not the best pieces of work but once you start....

Re: Attention to and Acknowledgement of the Analysis of our August reading

Well it might seem like a miracle but I've finished reading the last book I was reading. It's only taken me the better part of 2 months!!! Do you know how embaressing it is to find myself filling in the latest mothly read section with the same book title and author each month, while everyone else is flying through material???

Well I'm only going to get slower, I guess (and I am reading magazines and comics in between)

Ahem, enough digressions, I'm just about to start Ian Irvine's A Shadow on the Glass. I bought this one ages ago and bought it because I wanted to try a few things by authors I'd never read. I don't see his name come up too often around here (or I miss it) Anyone know what his stuff is like?

Re: Attention to and Acknowledgement of the Analysis of our August reading

Having finally finished the reread of Airaksinen's book, I have to admit that, the first time around, I was apparently so irritated with the negatives that I missed the positives in the latter portion of his work. There are some very good and thought-provoking insights in there, if one can tolerate the gaffes.... But I would have expected a much more careful reading and more carefully constructed arguments from someone of his stature....

Am now reading the introduction to The Best Tales of Hoffmann, edited by E. F. Bleiler. A very good introduction so far, setting Hoffmann in context, addressing many of the themes of the German Romantics, and overall definitely whetting the appetite for the tales that follow.... As I have (I must admit) only read two or three of Hoffmann's stories before, this promises to be a real treat....

Nearly finished Forest Mage by Robin Hobb, and have Renegade's Magic sitting there waiting...

Best ones she's done yet...though I do wish that something pleasant would happen to her main characters sometimes...

The Initiate Brother by Sean Russell.

A very impulsive read this one. Dont know much about the author. My brother bought it looking for good Historical Fantasy/Historical Fiction.

The synopsis the little i read sounded interesting.

It doesnt dissapoint so far. Its well written. Original fantasy setting with interesting history, myths. I like the buddist part of the story, martial arts and political intrigue.

There's a sequel to this called The Gatherer of Clouds.
