mmmm, I've always wondered how they plan to handle anakins corruption to the dark side. I've noticed that american film makers tend to be a bit squeemish about showing good guys turning bad.

Well they BETTER make him REAL bad, and it BETTER make me squeamish. Something's got to contrast that wimpy boy-band character pretty harsh for me to buy it at this point.

yes... i actually don't expect a great explanation in that way... we will see lots of saberlaser fights and spaceships impressive images with lots of special effects, but they wont show us as i would want the corruption of anakin. we will go out the cinema thinking ooohhh aaaaahh ooooooh, but we will miss the why.
well i am actually a bit pessimist since the phantom menace i know i just can expect good fights from Lucas, he is not as good as they made us believe.

Not sure if Anakin was ever really a "good guy" in II at least, but...

Anakin is manipulated by Palpatine into hating the Jedi as an obstruction to galactic peace - Annakin helps remove the "old republic" by rampaging through Jedi temples, slaughtering them.

I've also got a pic of what he looks like after lava damage, but I thought it was too gruesome to put on the site.

I think that lucas was trying to get that anakin was 'human' as opposed to a paragon like the rest of the jedi (although i may be giving him more credit than is due)

I would have liked to see a subtle corruption, as experienced by luke accross the three films. I think that this is going to be a far more heavy handed afair. Lucas simply doesn't have the time for subtlty with only this one film to go.

There's also the danger that the third one will be a bit over-the-top - the prequels are already somewhat heavy on the weighting of effects and scale as opposed to the 3 main Star Wars films.

You have a point there. Still, the photos look cool and hopefully this final installment of the prequel trilogy will surpass the previous two movies. Time will tell!
