SF Magazines

Does anybody else here collect and read SF magazines? I recently restarted, renewed my subscription to Analog and started buying back numbers and rying to fill the gaps in my old collection.

Re: SF Magazines

Not any more. The only magazine I bought consistently was Omni until it folded. I still have a large stack of them.

Re: SF Magazines

I tend to buy Locus (when I can find it) and am a semi regular SFX reader.

Although SFX has been overshadowed by Deathray recently which I prefer their mix of books/movie aticles and the reviews. SFX at times just feels like Empire magazine as their coverage is mostly movie related.

Re: SF Magazines

Is there a good SF magazine to read that features short stories by current authors?

Re: SF Magazines

Analog's quite good, though not as good as I remember. Whether that's just nostalgia, or the quality really has gone down (slightly) I couldn't say without rereading the old ones.

Re: SF Magazines

One of the few to endure through the last half of the twentieth century is the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction:

Re: SF Magazines

As far as I'm concerned nothing comes close to Analog.

BTW JQH have you had any problems recently receiving your copy? Some of mine have been late and others out of sequence.
