young adult books

Hi, looking for the name of a trilogy of books I read years ago, probably from the early to mid nineties, and can't for the life of me remember. I can recall most of the plot and I think it was part of the very popular Point series.

The trilogy was about some american school kids who could change into panthers. There were five overall and they could do other things aswell as change shape (put people to sleep?) but to varying degrees. One, the main character, had just moved to the area and the other four were the most popular in the school, two were brother and sister. They worshipped the Egyptian goddess Bas and were reincarnated priests, one of them betrayed the main character in this past life and stole her power. The main character only started changing when she moved to the school and spent time learning the ins and outs with the other four before deciding they were evil and battling them and subsequently killed them all.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Re: young adult books

Is it Animorphs by K.A. Applegate? Only these were published by Scholastic.

Animorphs chronicles the battles of five human teenagers and one alien youth who have the power to transform into animals as they fight a guerrilla war against a secret alien infiltration of Earth.

The first three books are The Invasion; The Visitor & The Encounter.
