I have this book --

-- with it's original cover and no bent pages:

Tolkien Bibliography: books written by Tolkien in the Tolkien Library: the hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, History of Middle Earth and fairytales

Do you think I should sell it? Or keep it for generations to come?

Re: I have this book --

I would keep it anyway. Which print edition is it?

Re: I have this book --

Is it the Silmarillion you're talking about, Nyomimi?

Even if it's a true first edition, there were so many printed that it'll be a long time before it's worth much more than the original price...but it'd make a nice hand-me-down present for future generations.

Re: I have this book --

I agree with Pyan. I too, have a fine first edition of The Silmarillion, and I picked it up for less than the cover price. They printed about a billion of the things, so there are lots around.

I'd keep it, and read it if you haven't, like Ace said. It really is Tolkien's magnum opus.

Re: I have this book --

Has a greater worth as a hand-me-down to future loved ones than you could get selling it.
