When candy goes wrong

Warning: they're a little accidentally phallic.

Oh, dear. And then I had to explain to my mother why I was laughing so hard that I got a coughing fit.

So...at least now I know that there's a reason why the title of this thread sounds like the title of a dirty movie.

Re: When candy goes wrong

McDonalds had to withdraw a happy meal toy a few years ago for a very similar reason. Some might say that the people who see these phallic symbols that were never intended, are sick themselves, but I blame the marketing people who are so sure that they have such a great idea, that they fail to spot the bleeding obvious!

BTW if you collect McDonalds toys that one is as rare as you can find. It has even been withdrawn from Ebay.

Ummm.... my mint has failed.

Mint? Mind! Arghhh! See? It's gone.

Reminds me of the Coke fiasco of a while back, where someone had purposefully put an...er... interesting image onto Coke labels, before it got noticed and recalled. I remember seeing a picture on the internet...

Re: When candy goes wrong

I'm dead serious here: over here Candy chain store Jamin sells candy that was made purposefully (more phallic, even, than the ones shown in the link)in that shape, and other shapes as well.
They're sold amongst the ususal candy(for kids),but there hasn't been much of a consumer outcry(except in the consumer TV program/magazine 'Kassa').
The complaint(if any) was basically that there should be a separate department('adult candy)
all of you know i come from a pretty enlightened country.
So what do i make of all this?
Anything that trivializes sex is very very ver very very very very bad.
am i oldfashioned ?
No.

I don't see what the fuss is about.
They just look like little jelly lighthouses. What else could they be mistaken for?
