Live Ship Traders I found these books excellent! They're huge but I spend 2 solid weeks reading them and finished them all! The only annoying thing was he didn't tell us who the bead woman, forget her name~, really was...apart from that, good! I just finished a short story of his also, set before the series, when the rainforest was first populated. It convinced me I really should read some of his other books! Has anyone else read this series?

Re: Live Ship Traders Well, first of all, Robin is a woman. Second, the Liveship traders trilogy is the second trilogy, between The farseer Trilogy and The Tawny Man Trilogy. It's true you can read all of them independly, but you have the entire picture only when you read all of them.

Re: Live Ship Traders I'm on Mad Ship right now. This is one of the best series I have read lately. The characters are vividly laid out, and some of the scenes just take my breath away. I'm definitely going to have to pick up her other books now. ![]()

Re: Live Ship Traders You must! Great series with some very interesting twists. Have you read The Tawny Man yet? If not, you will have to make sure you put those on your list after you finish The Liveship Traders.

Re: Live Ship Traders Wow Hodor your turnaround response time is impressive, haha! Yes I'm looking forward to seeing Fitz again, I really liked his character and was surprised how Hobb concluded the first series (i.e. he didn't get the girl).

Re: Live Ship Traders I know I've mentioned this before in other threads and I also know that some disagree, but I dont think you need to read this series to be able to follow onto the Tawny Man series. I didnt like this series, I found the sailing theme didnt grab me the way the other trilogies did. I read the first book then moved onto Tawny Man and didnt feel like I'd missed much. I liked the idea of the magical ships, but the life of the sailors bored me.

Re: Live Ship Traders I read Farseer and Loveships in straight succession and as such found Liveships a bit difficult to get into, especially when I learned Twaney Man returned to the Fitz's story. I wish I'd waited a few weeks before delving in to Liveships so I could have appreciated it a bit better so I think if I get round to a re-read I'll do these first. As Rune said you can just read Farseer and Tawney Man back to back and ignore Liveships, but you get a much better appreciation of the story if you read all 9 - and although they appear seperate stories the two threads are very cleverley interwoven In general read them all, its neccessary ![]()
