Re: Lyrics that mean something to you Oh my lover - John Lennon Oh my love for the first time in my life, My eyes are wide open, Oh my lover for the first time in my life, My eyes can see, I see the wind, Oh I see the trees, Everything is clear in my heart, I see the clouds, Oh I see the sky, Everything is clear in our world, Oh my love for the first time in my life, My mind is wide open, oh my lover for the first time in my life, My mind can feel, I feel the sorrow, Oh I feel dreams, Everything is clear in my heart, Everything is clear in our world, I feel the life, Oh I feel love. ------------------------------------------------- Beyond the Sea - Bobby Darin Somewhere beyond the sea Somewhere waiting for me My lover stands on golden sands And watches the ships that go sailing Somewhere beyond the sea She's there watching for me If I could fly like birds on high Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing It's far beyond the stars, It's near beyond the moon I know beyond a doubt My heart will lead me there soon We'll meet beyond the shore We'll kiss just like before Happy we will be beyond the sea And never again I'll go sailing I know beyond a doubt My heart will lead me there soon We'll meet, I know we'll meet beyond the shore We'll kiss just as before Happy we will be beyond the sea And never again I'll go sailing No more sailing So long, sailing, sailing, no more sailing Good-bye, farewell my friend, no more sailing So long sailing, no more sailing no more, farewell... no more sailing ------------------------------------------ People are strange - The Doors People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange ---------------------------------------------- May It Be - Enya May it be an evening star Shines down upon you May it be when darkness falls Your heart will be true You walk a lonely road Oh! How far you are from home Mornie utúlië (darkness has come) Believe and you will find your way Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen) A promise lives within you now May it be the shadow's call Will fly away May it be your journey on To light the day When the night is overcome You may rise to find the sun Mornie utúlië (darkness has come) Believe and you will find your way Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen) A promise lives within you now A promise lives within you now ----------------------------------------- --

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you Home Is Where The Heart Is - John Butler Trio Hard working people from another land looking for a little more Coming to this country for a helping hand You know they sail their ships upon these shores And they are lookin for a freedom that most of us don't appreciate But you know man we can't let them in Coz the government's full of racial hate And then they go the nerve to say They be takin our culture away even though our ancestors tried to do the same to the Aborigine Seems strange to me man strange to me Don't it seem strange to you That a country founded on immigration is so damned racist too And i say Home Home is where the heart is yeah Home And then they go the nerve to say they be takin our jobs away Even though half the jobs that we're working for are owned from overseas and the other half of the companies Yes Yes that they say that we rightly own They operate on aisle three third world That's right yeah the sweat shop zone And I say I don't know what's going on Don't know what the hell to say The government decides on letting refugees in and when they get here yes they are detained And i don't know what's going on Don't know the reason why We live in an educated so called democracy Where everybody decides to believe in lies Believe in lies Home is where the heart is yeah Home. Whether these lyrics mean something to me I'm not sure but they sure mean something.

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you These lyrics inspired me to stop drinking. Who Needs This Life So you found I was behind that baby bound him and your old lady, so you put her down to sleep, in the back of her old chevy pickup, blood stains, and rum and makeup, all wrapped up in a sheet Well you drink a beer, and grab a shove, I'm tryin to find your keys, and you make a trip through these albums, for your ... Try to make yourself forget the things you chant, before it all got ugly, Before she started to spread her legs for another man, Drinking wiskey in your Trailer, blue light is getting bailer, a bottle, bandage, a half a sandwich, noon Its Time to drink a beer and grab a shove, I'm tryin to find your keys, when you make a trip through these albums, for your ... well It's a simple thing and no it doesn't matter a bullet in his brain and you can watch it splatter (Echo: splatter) you think its over, but in truth is that it's just about to start its not the brain, its a matter of the heart oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah-yea-h-h-h where and when you see it splatter, i found it doesn't mattter you close your eyes, you hold your breathe and in the end, it doesn't matter (Echo: matter, matter, matter)

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you The Whole of the Moon-Waterboys I pictured a rainbow You held in your hands I had flashes But you saw then plan I wondered out in the world for years While you just stayed in your room I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon! You were there at the turnstiles With the wind at your heels You stretched for the stars And you know how it feels To reach too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon! I was grounded While you filled the skies I was dumbfounded by truths You cut through lies I saw the rain-dirty valley You saw brigadoon I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon! I spoke about wings You just flew I wondered, I guessed, and I tried You just knew I sighed But you swooned I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon! With a torch in your pocket And the wind at your heels You climbed on the ladder And you know how it feels To reach too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon! Unicorns and cannonballs, Palaces and piers, Trumpets, towers, and tenemets, Wide oceans full of tears, Flag, rags, ferry boats, Scimitars and scarves, Every precious dream and vision Underneath the stars You climbed on the ladder With the wind in your sails You came like a comet Blazing your trail Too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon!

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you Believe - John Butler Trio. Theres no need to cry Just hold your head up high All you got to do is Believe... In your self Cos there will be no-one else Who will ever leave... You alone anymore Cos in yourself you be sure in who you'd be... Exactly who you are Cos you could go so far All you got to do is believe... Take sometime with yourself Think about something else If you cannot be thankful for what you got Cos take a look around It is all so beautiful So what the hell is there to worry about? Worry about, worry about... There's no need to worry Run around in your scurry All you got to do is believe... In the universe Cos this man it always works All you got to do is release... All your expectations In any situation All you got to do is see... That it's all taking place In it's own grace All you got to do is believe Take sometime with yourself Think about something else If you cannot be thankful for what you got Cos take a look around It is all so beautiful So what the hell is there to worry about? Worry about, worry about...

The U.S. is full of this kind of prejudice. I think the concept of an "Attitude of Abundance" is missing all over the world. It's incredible how resistant people are to change. There was a line in a movie called "Flashback" (Kiefer Sutherland, Dennis Hoppper) where Hopper played an aging 60's activist and he said "You know, the US spent 133 billion dollars on the Vietnam war? We could have bought every Vietnamese a house for that much." It seems to me like the majority of our world leaders don't even know how to think like that. ![]() I'd better shut up, or I'm gonna get moved to the "World affairs" thread. I've already got the CIA watching me, so what the heck. Hi Boys! ![]() - Z. | |

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you Yep the masses call me Geoff. Yeah that stuff is a massive problem, not many people actually do to much to stop it as well which I think is really bad.

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you Sail On (Dick Gaughan) Sailed my whole life on bloodied seas Laughed in hard times, cried in easy Walked through storms in shadowed valleys Asking questions that had no answers Seen loved ones born, seen loved ones dying I've rocked with laughter, I've shook with crying Been down and out, been high and mighty Been a peacemaker, been a fighter Sail on, Sail on Sail on Sail on, Sail on Only a fool breaks their heart For what has gone Known real love and the joy of giving Saw it die but I kept on living Lived with love and lived without it Still believe and I'll never doubt it Sail on, Sail on The hour of sorrow is the herald Of the hope that is the dawn Sail on, Sail on Going home to where I truly do belong Sail on, Sail on Don't waste your time in asking Where the time you spent has gone Sail on, Sail on Only a fool breaks their heart For what has gone
