| How many forum members? Apologies if this has been posted before, but it's just too funny! I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, so here goes. I recognised myself in a couple of these points, and I'm sure you all will too! How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb? - one to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed. -14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and discuss how the light bulb could have been changed differently. -Seven to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs. -One to move the discussion to the Lighting list. -Two to argue then move it to the Electricals list. -Seven to point out spelling and grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs. -Five to flame the spellcheckers. -Three to correct the spelling and grammar flames. -Two industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'lamp'. -15 know-it-alls who claim that they were in the industry too and that 'light bulb' is perfectly correct -19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and people should please take this discussion to a light bulb forum -11 to defend the posting to this forum, saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum -36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs works best for this technique and what brands are faulty. -Seven to post URLs where one can see examples of various light bulbs. -Four to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then to post the corrected URLs. -Three to post about links they found from those URLs that are relevant to this group, which makes light bulbs relevant to this group. -13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety, including all headers and signatures and add 'Me too'. -Five to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light-bulb controversy. -Four to say, 'Didn't we go through this already, a short time ago?' -13 to say, 'Do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs.' -One forum lurker to respond to the original post six months from now and start it all over again. |

| Re: How many forum members? *digs up same thread on another forum, to find other funny suggestions.* One administrator to close the thread and toast the person who started it for being a troublemaker 6 members to say they were "definately" up for changing a lightbulb How about 1 member to create a poll about whether lightbulbs should be changed? You miss off the members who say they appreciate that the place is already lit up like a Christmas tree but could we please install an extra lightbulb in a place of their choosing. Ah, and the members who ask "Can we please have a special badge for the person who changes the most lightbulbs in a month?" (sorry that one is kinda that-forum-specific) the one forum member waiting for the right time to hi-jack the thread from the topic of lightbulbs to a different topic? |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: How many forum members? Well, I know where I fit on the list. + two spammers giving special deals on lightbulbs of various types (we won't even go into the Google ads at the top of the page the side debate as to whether it's lightbulb or light-bulb, split down Atlantic divisions (but it obviously isn't a light bulb, as this would sprout underweight tulips) The "Too many lightbulbs are causing global warming" faction And the "Can any one explain to me what a lightbulb is" set |

| Three from the third church of the light trying to get us to sign over all our lamps to them. Eight randomly making this sign throughout the debate ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One infrequently asking if we would like to help him find his muffins and twelve asking whether rather then changing the light bulb are we not really trying to change ourselves. |
