Re: Least Favorite Characters 'filler' suggests she does nothing at all, and has no storyline of her own let alone the novel's plots, but she does, she has been on such a journey and I think we've learnt a lot through her chapters, both about her and the people of Westeros.

Plus given the fact that she appears on her way to becomming one of the faceless, I daresay she IS one of the main plot lines. The main plotline is all well and good, Im interested in travelling down the road that leads to the conclusion too, but sometimes you find interesting things along the way...off to the side of the road...that you just have to investigate. Moments like Roose's leeches for example, lend nothing to the plot, but really fill the story out and give it more color. This is all, of course, IMHO. | |

Re: Least Favorite Characters Actually, I do , like Jon Snow. I just said that because I was hoping someone would take the bait. However, I must say I like all the characters except Stannis, who I have already ranted about numerous times, but, I must admit he is interesting, he is simply the only one I can't relate to.

But if we're only giving wolves to people who 'deserve them', the series would feature very few wolves. ![]() Quote:

Re: Least Favorite Characters Well one time I got really really drunk and spent the night trying to figure out how to swing from tree to tree like tarzan except I was only wearing a shirt tied around my waist as a loincloth.... Did I mention this was a public park? So if anything deserves a wolf, Im thinking Ive got to be pretty high up in line

Re: Least Favorite Characters Even after only reading the first, I must admit I don't have any characters which strike me the wrong way. Even the characters that are antagonists at least have enough depth to make them seem justified to me. I'm just sort of enjoying it all. I think i'm going to start collecting knights. I need to buy a curio cabinet to display them in. This book has got me all stoked on knights and feudal times.

Re: Least Favorite Characters Walder Frey reduces me to quivers along the lines of little Robert Arryn. Antagonists are very nearly more necessary than protagonists but George hit the nail on the head with old Frey. If I had but one wish it would be to walk nonchalant into the Twins and slit that wrinkly old throat.
