If you follow the link posted above there is a "Preview" link - if you follow that it lets you read the first 20 pages or so.

It's primarily about a small unit of 22nd century soldiers getting stuck on a planet with 6th century people. At first the 'future' troopers kick butt, but slowly their lack of numbers and equipment breakdowns begin to tell. The book is a telling of their experiences from one character's point of view and how the unit learns to survive - plus all the other plot hooks etc. to set up the following stories which will follow other characters you meet along the way.
