| Re: Got cats? Sorry, sorry, sorry. It turned out that while the vet was on the phone with my mom, he looked over at the tech, and she was making a sad face about the kitty, and he thought something was wrong, but there wasn't. When they were doing the surgery, they found that his ribs were malformed, they weren't open enough, so he couldn't breathe, and they were pushing on his stomache, so he couldn't eat. They took a long plastic plate, and stitched through his skin and his ribs, and pulled them up, and tied them to the plate. The plate's on the outside. He survived the night, and has been eating, and breathing normally. We got to bring him home today. The plate's still attached. We don't know how long he'll have to have it. But he's eating, and he's been more active than he was before. I'll have to take some pictures of him and the plate. It's kind of freaky. I have a couple pre-surgery pictures I'll try to post. Send happy thoughts to the kitty. |

| Direwolf of the chrons | Re: Got cats? Great news Flygin = and a vet working for free is a (very sadly) rare thing much of the time. It seems many are out for money over care (just look at the prices they charge for fleaspray and such over here - even regular supermarkets (not including Tescos as they sell everything at silly prices) can sell much cheaper medication) edit - aww those are very beautiful eyes! |

| If you see a stranger... | Re: Got cats? Aww - poor little baby, you can tell he doesn't feel too good just by looking at him. I'm glad the surgery went well. The vet sounds amazing, not only working initially for free, but engineering a guide to hold the ribs...You'll have to let the whole practice know they have fans all over the world. |

| Re: Got cats? Kitty's back at the vet. He has a bubble, and they have to let it out. They say they probably nicked his lung during the surgery because he's so little, but the fix is routine, and he'll be ok. He wasn't really eating, but the when they got to the vet, he ate right away. He loves it there. I hope he'll be ok. |

| Living in Paradise | Re: Got cats? Flygin maybe he loves the vet more than you, nah, but he seems to like going there. What a wonderful person your vet is. He has sensational eyes to (the kitten, not the vet) Good luck Flygin! New kitty news on our home front also. We have been thinking about getting Tig a friend for awhile now and finally we found a little female, she is five months old with beautiful big green eyes. Her name is Darla but she has already earned the name of Princess Darla. it took less than 24 hours for her and Tig to bond, now they are like two teenagers in love, they sleep together, eat together and even go to the toilet together. She crys when he leaves her side and he is always watching out for her when she plays, this is all in less than a week. Its beautiful to watch. Shall put up some pictures soon. |
