Identify a film?

I was sat in a house of alcohol sales last night and a fellow patron was describing a movie but we couldn't name it - any help?

Assuming his memory was correct: two groups of indigenous tribes, one of whom goes hunting etc and stumbles into the territory of the other. As punishment they are killed in a series of interesting ways, except the final one who escapes and goes on the run, eventually evading capture. The chase is much of the film, probably.

I was thinking Apocalypto, too... but I'm not sure. The main fella's village is attacked, rather than a hunting party being captured and dispatched.
