Take a note from Tolkien, using onomonapia. Words like "orc" "Sauron" or "Nazgul".
He wanted the heros in the story to have a chill run down their spin whenever they hear the word.

But it's SF so do whatever you think is best for the story.

It's always nice to meet new characters. The nervous interaction as you get as you get to know them better. Will they be nasty or nice. What did you come up with?

I was leaning towards 'stalkers' or 'the unwanted'. But as to the Tolkein comment - pick a local language name that sounds nasty when you speak it.....
