Based on what Chair said it's a rather obscure character. The quote was part of a conversation between the acolytes in the preface of AFFC, but I can't remember who it was that said it.

I don't think I'd have gotten that close had you not made the comment that people shouldn't be ashamed if they had to look it up. It also helped that I re-read that prologue when looking at the "candle that doesn't flicker" thread
