Re: Great news Congratulations! Though, honestly, I'm surprised Sierra didn't go after that one, seeing as they had a hit series back in the days of DOS and Windows 3.1 by the named of King's Quest, an adventure game series spanning 7 volumes.

Re: Great news Ha ha Chris, There have been a few and I definitely know that, but all they did was make the book better and they have my thanks as well. Even the ones who I upset on other websites who deliberately went to amazon and though they didnt read the book posted bad reviews, This news is too good to hold any grudges and Im not that good at them anyway. By the way I was going to personally thank you, so here thanks chris you helped a lot.

I've had reviews that made me scratch my head and wonder if they had read the same book I wrote, and many of them seemed to love it. I can't imagine a stranger giving me a good review unless they really did read the book; it's easier to believe that those who gave a lukewarm review and got so many of the details wrong only read the first part and skimmed through the rest. I believe some people start a book, think they know where it's leading (and don't), and write the review based on that. That's careless and a bit of a cheat, but I wouldn't put down to malice what could be sheer laziness. | |

Re: Great news First, type Wedhorn, on Walmart.com When I first got A King's Quest, I went to several message boards as an enthused new author, one of the message boards really took a disliking to the fact that I posted there, I was wrong in the way I went about it, and so they all went to Amazon and posted some horrible reviews, and never read it. All of them said they did it just because I went to their site, I was wrong in what I did and I know better now and havent made that mistake again. At that time, I had only sold twenty copies and none of them was to any of them. I have tried and tried to get amazon to fix this problem but... that has been like pulling teeth. I did recieve two good reviews from SFF World, and Midwest book review, but have been forever finding things posted by these seven people. They have made because of my enthusiam which was wrong, bad posts all over just because. It's a shame and I have apologized for it several times. Needless to say I have stopped trying that route and will always introduce myself anywhere before I ever post again.

Re: Great news No, I don't see amazon cooperating with you on that. Probably they figure that it's just as easy for friends and family to join up and give rave reviews, so it all evens out in the end -- even if it doesn't in the case of any individual author.
